On 2/2/17, the PUCT staff filed several proposed rules for consideration at the 2/9/17 open meeting. In Project No. 45625, a Proposal for Adoption was drafted “for the limited purpose of allowing a Retail Electric Provider (REP) or aggregator to use a portable electronic device (PED) during customer enrollments via door-to-door sales, with changes to the proposed text as published in the November 11, 2016 issue of the Texas Register (41 TexReg 8886). The amendments will provide customer protections while allowing the option of using new technology for enrollments via door-to-door sales.”
In Project No. 45927, staff filed a Proposal for Adoption to “permit ERCOT to deploy Emergency Response Service (ERS) to forestall firm load shed in the event of local transmission emergencies, and [to] provide flexibility to ERS resources to participate in Must-Run Alternative arrangements.”
A Proposal for Publication was filed in Project No. 46765, adding an amendment to 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) § 22.52 to require “that the United States Department of Defense Siting Clearinghouse receive notice of electric licensing proceedings for transmission lines throughout Texas and generation projects outside of ERCOT.”
