NERC Signs MOU with Mexico’s Comisión Reguladora de Energía

On 3/15/17, T&D World reported that “[a] memorandum of understanding has been signed by the North American Electric Reliability Corp., the Comisión Reguladora de Energía (CRE), and the Centro Nacional de Control de Energía (CENACE). The agreement outlines a framework for a cooperative relationship between Mexico and NERC, the Electric Reliability Organization, to enhance reliability of electric power systems. The memorandum recognizes the established and growing interconnections between the United States and Mexico and roles of each party in support of continued reliability. The agreement establishes a collaborative mechanism for identification, assessment and prevention of reliability risks to strengthen grid security, resiliency and reliability.” More also at NERC, CRE, and CENACE Sign Memorandum of Understanding.
