UT Energy Week Planned for Early February

The University of Texas at Austin will hold the UT Energy Week 2017 on Feb. 7-10 – “a gathering of experts from academia, industry, regulatory agencies, and non-profit organizations to explore and debate some of society’s most vital energy issues.” The conference “will be co-hosted by UT Austin’s Energy Institute, the KBH Center for Energy, Law & Business, and two student-run organizations – the Longhorn Energy Club and the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law.” Among the topics covered will be:

  • Energy security and grid resilience
  • Distributed generation and the evolving utility/consumer relationship
  • After fracking: what’s the next big thing in energy production?
  • Trends in changing global energy supply and demand.

Also, on 2/10/17, “the KBH Center will hold its Second Annual Symposium, entitled “The Future of the Oil and Gas Industry: Peak Oil or Peak Demand – What’s the Horizon?” The event, which will be held in the Four Seasons Hotel Austin Ballroom, will feature a keynote address by Jack N. Gerard, President and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute.”
